Church Planting
Church planting remains the heartbeat of Jesus Followers Ministries (JFM), carrying forward the passion God placed in Joshi Anna’s heart to establish living churches in India’s unreached villages. Of the 700,000 villages across India, only about 65,000 have a Christian presence, leaving 635,000 without the Gospel witness—yet every one deserves a local church proclaiming Christ until He returns.
Joshi Anna’s Enduring Vision
Joshi Anna’s burden went beyond preaching; he labored tirelessly to gather new believers into fellowships where they could worship, grow, and witness. From remote areas with no electricity or Christian families, he envisioned self-sustaining churches among the poor. Today, his sons—Pastor John Spurgeon and Brother Bakth Singh—carry this mantle with the same fire, mentoring native pastors and expanding the network of village churches.
Supporting Native Pastors
Church planters often arrive in pioneer villages with their families, living in simple 1-2 room homes amid hardship. JFM provides monthly support of $300 to cover basics, plus bicycles, public-address systems, Bibles, and Gospel literature for effective outreach. This enables them to focus on evangelism without poverty’s crush.
Building Simple Prayer Halls
New congregations of laborers and farmers start under thatched roofs or in homes. JFM helps construct modest village church halls (500-1,000 sq ft, seating 50-100) for ₹8-20 lakhs ($10,000-$25,000 USD)—basic brick walls, tin roofs, and cement floors that become beacons of hope.
